Draft policy
Terms & Conditions
Draft participation terms and community expectations for The Critical Match LLC events, Character Development, partner spaces, and site visitors.
Who we are
The Critical Match LLC is a relationship and community-building company for adults in gaming, tabletop, fandom, cosplay, convention, and nerd culture communities. We create events, Character Development, education, partner programming, and community experiences designed to help people find meaningful connection.
Participation
Critical Match provides facilitated events, education, Character Development, and community experiences. Participation does not guarantee a romantic match, friendship, job, partnership, or relationship outcome.
Eligibility
Events marked 21+ require valid age confirmation at check-in. Attendees who cannot satisfy eligibility requirements may be refused entry.
Community standards
Critical Match is an intentionally welcoming, queer-positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, BIPOC-inclusive space. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, harassment, hate speech, intimidation, stalking, unwanted sexual attention, or repeated boundary pushing are not tolerated.
Consent and conduct
If someone says no, pauses, leaves, or expresses discomfort, attendees must respect that immediately. Be kind, be curious, and do not pressure anyone for attention, contact information, dates, photos, touch, or continued conversation.
User submissions
Attendees, stores, and venues are responsible for the accuracy of information they submit. Critical Match may edit, reject, or remove submissions that are inaccurate, unsafe, or off-mission.
Tickets, refunds, and changes
Ticket terms, refunds, transfers, and event changes should be stated clearly at purchase and may vary by event or ticketing platform. Critical Match may reschedule, modify, remove attendees, or cancel programming when required for safety, venue operations, weather, illness, low enrollment, or other practical needs.
Not professional advice
Character Development and event programming are educational and supportive services. They are not therapy, medical care, legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for licensed professional services.
Draft for legal review
These Terms & Conditions are a working draft and should be reviewed by a Texas attorney before launch, ticket sales, or production use.
